DORIS Appointed as Principal Designer for Two Floating Wind Farms in Scotland
DORIS, an offshore engineering services company, has been selected as the Principal Designer for the Broadshore and Bellrock floating offshore wind farm projects in Scotland. The appointment was made by the BlueFloat Energy | Renantis Partnership, responsible for delivering floating offshore wind farms in the UK.
The Broadshore and Bellrock projects are strategically located 50 km north of Fraserburgh and 130 km east of Aberdeen, respectively. These floating wind farm developments have a combined capacity of up to 2.1 GW and were granted licenses during the 2022 ScotWind leasing round. Additionally, the partnership has achieved success in the recent INTOG leasing round with two innovation projects, Sinclair and Scaraben, each with a capacity of 99.45 MW, situated adjacent to the Broadshore project.
In its role as Principal Designer, DORIS will leverage its expertise in Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations. The company will be responsible for planning, managing, monitoring, and coordinating design risk management activities, as well as providing support for contractor selection and appointments. DORIS will ensure compliance with CDM and HSEQ management systems throughout the pre-construction phases of both floating offshore wind farms until the final investment decision is made.
The BlueFloat Energy | Renantis Partnership is committed to advancing renewable energy initiatives and making significant contributions to the floating offshore wind sector. With DORIS as the Principal Designer, the Broadshore and Bellrock projects are poised to make substantial strides in Scotland's sustainable energy landscape.
